and Center. Deepen your relationship with the elements through experiential
work including drumming, singing, sacred dance, breath work, visualization,
sensing, projecting and raising energy, chanting, trance work, creating

discussion and experientially.
Ritual Artistry
Cynthia
Jones and River
(Chicago)
11:00 am
Creating ritual for groups can be both the most rewarding and the most
challenging aspect of community leadership. Whether you are interested
in designing effective ritual for a small coven or for the public at large,
this class will help you learn the basics of setting intention, collaborative
planning, and manifesting the plan through logistics. We will work with
the creation of an inclusive invocation as an exercise, looking at the
steps of planning an invocation in a team as well as what an inclusive
invocation should do. Join us to learn the art of ritual creation as a
tool for building community, and increase your ritual tools for engaging
and including participants at your next ritual.
Lunch
Discussion: Ritual Arts

artists. This is a great time to ask questions in a more relaxed, conversational

Trance:
Introduction to Double-Voice Trance
Sisalfish
and Laurie Dietrich
1:15 pm
Double-voice
trance is used at Diana's Grove, and by those trained there, to heighten
the experiential nature of ritual, to promote learning and to support
personal transformation and healing. Rooted in the principles of Ericksonian
hypnotherapy and alchemical psychology, double-voice trance, as developed
by Diana's Grove co-founders Cynthia Jones and Patricia Storm, is based
on the understanding that we each have, within us, the power to heal ourselves.
Join us for an introductory workshop on inclusive trance language and
approaches that speak to the subconscious. Two by two, we'll explore what
makes double-voice trance a magical experience for facilitators and participants
as well.
Stepping
Into Deathwork: Priestessing to the Dying
Sisalfish
and Laurie Dietrich
2:45 pm
In times past, the transition into death was considered to be
as natural as birth - a time when the tribe gathered to offer unflinching
support and reverent witness. Amid the sterility of our modern, death-denying
society, Earth-based approaches to death and dying offer ways to reclaim
the sacred nature of this passage. This introductory session will offer
participants an opportunity to step into a relationship with Death - a
relationship that can support them in the important work of participating
in and priestessing that inevitable transition.
Ritual
Energetics: Rhythm, Movement, & Song
River (Chicago),
Lucinda Sohn, Shauna
Aura
4:15 pm
Experience ritual as a full-bodied, multisensorial prayer. Use
your body--your voice, your moment, and rhythm, as a tool for transcendence.
The Diana's Grove style of ritual is ecstatic, which means we build energy
during the course of a whole ritual. Every time a participant adds their
voice and body to the ritual, every time a particicpant is included, they
add their energy. We will explore how you can use the gifts you were born
with--your voice and body--to add your own energy to each piece in a ritual.
We will close by raising energy and looking at the layers of drum, voice,
chanting, and movement and how they work to build the energy; together,
let's work with the energetics of ritual that helps us lay new patterns
in our souls.
Breath
and Sacred Body
Breathwork
Rosalyn Young,
Ph.D
9:30 am

the time for a centering meditation, and feel a cleansing breath open
up your lungs, your mind, and your spirit.
Walking
a Labyrinth
Michelle Solvej
11:00 am
Explore the labyrinth as a meditative tool, with time to walk a small
labyrinth and meditate, and quiet space to reflect upon your meditation.
Walking a labyrinth can be a gentle but physical way of meditating more
kinesthetically. Moving your body as you walk the rungs of this ancient
tool can help you work through issues in a way that sitting still would
not accomplish. Join us to learn why our ancient ancestors have been carving
and building labyrinths for thousands of years by experiencing the power
and simplicity of walking a labyrinth.
Lunch

Julie Dotson,

4:15 pm
When was the last time you "really" listened to your body? Come,
listen, move and discover the Wisdom of your Body! In this introductory
workshop we will focus on the practice of moving and the development of
the inner witness. Authentic Movement is a self-directed process rooted
in the field of Dance/Movement Therapy. Through the experience of moving
and witnessing, individuals may focus upon and embody the impulses and
contents of their inner life, bringing the vast, rich material of the
active imagination, emotions, and sensation into consciousness.

Tarot:
Using the Celtic Cross as a Spell
Cynthia
Jones, River (Chicago)
1:15 pm
The popular Tarot spread of the Celtic Cross can become a powerful tool
for your own personal development. Learn the basic layout of the Celtic
Cross, and how you can use this to lay out a spell. The spellwork becomes
about the Outcome card; what calls you? What do you want to become? What
are you stepping into? The rest of the spread becomes about your current
situation, and your road to get to that Outcome. Note: Following this
workshop, in the Creativity track, there is a workshop where you can use
collage to create your own Outcome card.
Finding
Your Center
The Labyrinth of Personal and Spiritual Development in a Mystical Tradition
Shauna Aura,
River Higginbotham
2:45 pm
Join us in exploring who you are, exploring your center, and finding tools
to help you become who you want to be. What are the seven circuits of
the labyrinth of personal and spiritual development? How can this pattern
help me find my center? We
will use exercises that communicate, teach and demonstrate these concepts
through a variety of senses and learning styles. Participants will be
offered opportunities to take an active role in their own learning through
exercises, discussion, and small groups. This
workshop invites you to step fully into yourself...to seize your life..to
take your world in your hands and shape it according to your deepest beliefs.
Through discovering yourself, you can create yourself.
Four
Faces of Magic
Joyce and
River Higginbotham
4:15 pm
Explore the
experience of magick as energy work from the perspective of Ken Wilber's
Integral Approach.
In River and Joyce's book, Pagan Spirituality, they explore the
experience of magick as Energy Work, Communing, Conscious Creation and
Divination. Their unique approach maps these four faces onto the four
quarters or elements of earth-based spirituality. The exercises in this
workshop show the four faces of magic shown from the perspective of a
living universe in dynamic relationship, and explore how magick fits into
an integrated plan of development.
Present day philosopher Ken Wilber sets out an Integral Approach which
they apply to magick. Come and experience how this approach to magick
can be a powerful catalyst for your growth and spiritual development.
Creativity as Spellwork
Mandala
Workshop: The Sacred
Julie Dotson

A creative workshop that offers the opportunity to quiet the mind and
tune into the whisperings of the heart. The creation of the sacred imagery
within the mandala can give form and expression to intuitive insight and
personal transformation of the Self. No experience is necessary for this
simple, yet powerful process - all art materials are provided. Format
includes guided imagery, creative expression and group sharing.
Journey
In Words: Hero’s Journey
Shaun Perkins
11:00 am
Why is it that there really are only ten stories out there and those ten
stories or plots just keep getting told over and over? There is an archetypal
pattern to stories that makes appealing. This workshop will explore the
elements of myth or the hero's journey, and help us see the elements of
the pattern inside these stories. If you are a writer or someone who wants
to begin writing, if you are yearning to reach others with your words,
knowing those mythic elements might be one key to making a story or a
poem or an essay or a memoir insightful for you and relevant to others.Poetry,
short stories, memoir, a novel, journal-writing….the genre you choose
is totally up to you. You will have the opportunity to do a writing exercise
so that you may craft the journey--whether it's for the character of a
story, or you as the hero of the story that is your own life. Step into
the quest and learn how writing with archetype can call to our deepest
desires.
Lunch
Discussion: Creativity Spellwork:
Julee
Higginbotham, Kathleen,
Shauna Aura, Jennifer
Byers, Ty
Horton

be applied to your own spellwork, personal growth, or artistic process.
Julee, Kathleen, Shauna, and Ty will be offering a Creativity Circle in
St. Louis offering this work on a monthly basis. This is a great time
to ask questions in a more relaxed, conversational format.
Belief
Braid
Joyce and
River Higginbotham
1:15 pm
Join in the magickal working of making a “beliefs braid” that
weaves together the power of thought, beliefs, resources, and opportunities.
Open to your spiritual growth and pull to yourself those ideas, people,
events, books, and other encounters you most need right now. Yarn for
the braiding is supplied; you may, however, bring other materials for
your braid if you prefer. There will be a brief discussion before the
magickal working regarding growth and the expansion of capacities. Afterwards
there will be an opportunity to share your thoughts and insights.
Collage:
Creating your "Outcome" Card in the Celtic Cross
Julee
Higginbotham, Kathleen,
Michelle Solvej
2:45 pm
Earlier in the day Cynthia Jones presented on how the Celtic Cross can
be used as a spell to help us work towards our own personal growth. We
begin that work with the Outcome card; what do you want to become? When
you have transformed into the Self you are becoming, what does that look
like or feel like? This workshop is an opportunity to work with your Deep
Self and create a collage to represent what it feels like when you have
become your Expanded Self. No artistic ability or previous experience
with collage or tarot is required. This workshop will begin with a chance
to center into yourself and the feelings of your Outcome through trance
and meditation. There will be space to work on your collage, and time
at the end for sharing.
Creating
Prayer Beads
Carey Oxler
and Kimberly Gier
4:15 pm
Creating prayer beads is more involved than simply stringing some beads!
We'll discuss intention, methods, materials, uses, prayers, litanies,
mantras, rituals, and more! This is a hands-on workshop where people can
take home a set of prayer beads that they create. In this session, you
will be able to create prayer beads for yourself and set an intention.
Prayer beads can be spellwork for personal growth or other magical work.
They can be an excellent tool for working magic that creates a tangible
prayer tool. You could use prayer beads as a way to explore, what inspires
you? What do you reach for? What dream is reaching for you? What do you
hold sacred? The possibilities are endless.
Myth
, Story, and Archetype
Celtic
Mythology: Stories and Discussion
Charlie
Bettis
9:30 am
Charlie has a deep love of Celtic mythology and spirituality. In this
session he will tell a few Celtic stories that deal with the theme of
the day...a little Brigid/Bride, a little Tam Lin. The stories will lead
to discussion of the Celtic myths and the recurring archetypal themes.
Enjoy a little storytelling with someone passionate about these myths
and gain a deeper understanding of stories you may have heard, or are
interested in hearing.
Experiential
Tarot
Jennifer
Byers
11:00 am
Experience Tarot by exploring an archetype; this workshop is great for
someone new to Tarot or with years of experience. We will work with the
Major Arcana; each particpant will have an opportunity to sit with, and
embody, one of the Major Arcana cards. We will learn tools to understand
and interpret these cards that go beyond memorizing what each card is
about. Learn about Tarot and the archetypes within by listening to the
stories each card tells. Storytelling, numerology, physical motion, and
oracling will help you own personal relationship with your Tarot cards.
These are tools you can use for a deeper understanding of Tarot, or any
archetype.
Lunch
Discussion: Christo-Paganism
Joyce Higginbotham,
River Higginbotham, Paulita
Pranschke
There are Pagans who combine Christian practices into their spirituality?
What are they thinking!
Come explore ideas and attitudes about blended spiritualities and their
place in a post-modern Pagan movement. If you are a ChristoPagan, we encourage
you to come share your journey with others who may be curious about it.
You do not have to be a ChristoPagan to attend this casual lunch discussion,
only interested in the topic.
Dreamwork
Shauna Aura,
Jennifer Byers
1:15 pm
Have you ever woken up from a dream and wondered...what did that
mean? Learn techniques for remembering and exploring your dreams, as well
as for how to share them in a dream circle. Discuss the nature of archetype
and symbol in dreams; no one else can decode your dream for you, but there
are many ways that the guides of myth and archetyp can help. End with
a group dream circle where the group will work with some dreams and dream
symbols experientially.
Myth
and Storytelling
Shaun Perkins,
Cynthia Jones
2:45 pm
Get an introduction to storytelling as a ritual tool. Shaun
and Cynthia will tell the Celtic tale of Tam Lin, and show how you can
use storytelling in your own ritual and magical work. Myth is a powerful
tool; myths are a journey, a story of tranformation, and they can be applied
to your own personal transformational process in a number of ways.
Tending
the Hearth-Fire: Working with Breed/Brigid
El Bee
4:15 pm
Fire tending is not just about the physical hearth in our homes; it is
also the hearth that keeps the fire burning in our souls. How do you tend
your hearth-fire, the fire in your soul? What do you feed your fire, how
do you care for it? Work with Breed, Celtic goddess of the triple flame,
to tend your own fires.
Post-Workshop
Events
Closing
Circle
Everyone
5:15 pm
Together, we acknowledge the community that has formed during this day,
the circle that has formed around us as we have done this work together.
We will gather together as a group in the large event space, perhaps sing
a chant as a preview for the evening's ritual, and then part ways. Those
who are interested may participate in the Elemental Invocations, and others
may head straight out to dinner on Delmar before attending the evening's
ritual.
Elemental
Invocations
Shaun Perkins,
Susan Morse, sisalfish,
Raven, Michelle
Solvej
5:20 pm
Step into the evening's Imbolc ritual by participating in a community-created
invocation. You may join one elemental team; choose from Air, Fire, Water,
Earth, and Center, and create an inclusive, embodied invocation. This
is a great way to step fully into participation in ritual, and to more
fully and deeply experience an element, as we create invocations that
serve the intention of the ritual.
In the Diana's Grove
ritual style, Air is not summoned with a liturgy, but invoked by each
of us. Can you feel the wind blowing? What does it sound like? What are
the gifts of Air? Does Air have a color for you? How does Air move? Can
you make the motion of Air, or make the sounds of Air? Can you speak the
gifts of Air into the circle that they may be present with us for our
work tonight?
